About Me.

I’m a clinical psychologist, with specialized training in family therapy, health psychology, LGBTQ care, and stress reduction. I work in a holistic way, taking into account the many aspects of your life. Working in a collaborative manner, I work to help you achieve your personal goals and offer a warm and supportive place to discuss issues and find coping skills.

Education.

I have been working in the field of psychology since 2009. Since this time, I received my degree in Psychology and Spanish from Oberlin College, my Master’s Degree in Couples and Family Therapy (MFT) at the University of San Diego, and a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. I have been licensed and practicing for many years. I also provide clinical supervision to doctoral students in Clinical Psychology.

Experience.

I have received specialized training in multiple settings, including school settings, a domestic violence crisis line and shelter, and multiple medical centers and outpatient clinics. I completed my pre doctoral training supporting people with chronic illnesses and in neuropsycholoical assessment. My post-doctoral residency program was with children and family therapy, and an integrated medical department, focusing on topics such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, LGBTQ topics, and family stress. In my post-doctoral year, I started a pilot program in integrated medicine, where I worked for multiple years, and eventually became involved in teaching and supervising post-doctoral residents. I have worked at the UCSF for many years, and am not working in a private practice clinic.

Therapeutic Approach:

I work in a warm, collaborative manner with clients. I believe that everyone has the strength and knowledge to recover and work on life’s challenges. I offer a combination of practical solutions and therapeutic support from the principles of cognitive behavioral approaches, ACT, DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness skills and prosocial psychology, while motivating clients to find creative solutions to problems they are facing. I offer a non-judgmental and supportive space to work on what is bothering you, while providing tools as necessary to aid in the process.

About me: In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, running, baking and spending time with my family. I also have a cat named Toothless. (Don’t worry, He has teeth! But is named after a dragon from a movie).
